Letter I Wrote

-- by Dave Johnson

I just sent this letter to the San Jose Mercury News:

Editors,

The Mallard Fillmore comic strip tells your readers not to trust (and therefore not to read) your newspaper. I'm curious how this furthers your business model.

Regards,

Dave Johnson

My local paper puts Mallard Fillmore in as a conservative alternative to Doonesbury.

I believe that the basis of the cartoon is to show that humor and the ability to draw are liberal plots.

Damn, I don't get many belly laughs. Thanks for a witty comment. Wonder what percentage of MF readers will understand.

THE DUCK IS JUST NOT FUNNY. LIKE HITLER'S CARTOONS ABOUT THE JEWS IT IS HATEFUL AND NOT FUNNY. CRUMMY ART WORK AND A STUPID PLOT LINE EQUAL ON DEAD DUCK.
