Shameful!
[This is a personal account of one group's onerous evacuation odyssey, Homeric in it's extent. Maybe we oughta stand outside the White House and chant "Shame! Shame! Shame!" -Thomas]
Another NO Story from the inside
"Throughout, the official relief effort was callous, inept, and racist. There was more suffering than need be. Lives were lost that did not need to be lost."

P.S. I see that Cheney's shopping for a $2.9 million dollar mansion in Maryland, near Rummy.

Going by bits and pieces I saw on the news, I'm sure this story is true. I saw one (white) couple interviewed that had tried to cross the bridge to get out of the city and was turned back at gunpoint. Other stories of people who left the convention center to walk out and were turned back. Weren't orders given there that the best way to get out of the city was to "march out"? Any group was considered a mob.
