Leaving Rove In Place To Divide the Nation and Destroy People

-- by Dave Johnson

From Time Magazine this week, Joe Klein: The Perils of the Permanent Campaign,

Last week there was more of the same, according to a prominent Republican, who told me that the White House had sent out talking points about how to attack Brent Scowcroft after Bush the Elder's National Security Adviser went public with his opposition to the war in the New Yorker magazine. "I was so disgusted that I deleted the damn e-mail before I read it," the Republican said. "But that's all this White House has now: the politics of personal destruction."
On the nomination of Alitio to the Supreme Court, People For the American Way President Ralph Neas,
He has chosen to divide Americans with a nominee guaranteed to cause a bitter fight.
"Rovism": Destroy people, and set people against each other for political gain. Karl Rove is still in the White House, and Rovism continues.

Rove and the Republicans are going to pursue a scorched-earth policy now. The country is divided down the middle and they are going to do everything they can to aggravate that and fracture society -- because they believes that "their side" will come out on top. Quoting TPM:

It all reminds me of a line from a famous, or rather infamous, memo Pat Buchanan, then a White House staffer, wrote for Richard Nixon in, I believe, 1972 when their idea of the moment was what they called 'positive polarization'.
At the end of this confidential strategy memo laying out various ideas about how to create social unrest over racial issues and confrontations with the judiciary, Buchanan wrote (and you can find this passage on p. 185 of Jonathan Schell's wonderful Time of Illusion): "In conclusion, this is a potential throw of the dice that could bring the media on our heads, and cut the Democratic Party and country in half; my view is that we would have far the larger half."

And there you have it. Tear the country apart. And once it's broken, our chunk will be bigger.

Prosecutor Fitzpatrick, your country needs you now. If you have something on Rove use it soon.

The time has obviously (for some time, in fact) for Americans of conscience to strike back.

The politics of character assasination have two sharp edges....and it's damned well time they were used by enlightened people (instead of merely the troglodytes).

As a World War II veteran, I can honestly state that the time has also come to cleave this abhorrent country between the Red and the Blue. The greatest mistake ever made by the U.S. was taking the stupid, arrogant and racist South back as "equals"(?) after the Civil War. OK, kids, let's cast them off again to their real destiny of being a third world country populated by Bubba's and their sister/wives, Bubbette. There is no doubt in my mind that after one or two years all the talent and intellect would flee northward and leave only the scum around the bottom of the tub.

Yeah, but they'll have nuclear weapons. Really.

bush is as rove does, and rove does do it. What is a problem is the way this slimeball "administration" can use its power to eliminate any and all dissention. It is hoped Mr. Fitzgerald is not going to be "fixed" to let these bastards continue with their hatred, arrogance, racism, thuggery, thievery, and butchery. They prove there is no God, but if there is, it could be in the form of Mr. Fitzgerald.
The real evil is in the White House and in the Congress where the ruling GOP (Genocide, Oil, Profits) remains firmly entrenched for at least another year. Good god, are we ever in trouble!!

RB, unfortunately for the reasoning and rational American progressives, it's not just the South. It's a majority of voters in perhaps 30 States. Check out this map ---> http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mejn/election/ .

Also, I see a lot of ReThuglicans who are upset with some of Bush's choices, but I don't know a single one who would take back their vote and choose Kerry over Bush. Even knowing what they now know about the corruption, lies, cronyism, pro-Fascist corporatism, anti-civil liberty, anti-choice, anti-Separation, anti-environment, anti-middle class, racist, mysogynistic, anti-government monsters.

In fact, I predict that where necessary the ReThugs will run new candidates in the critical races during the '06 elections who will appear more "sane". The majority of American voters will then increase the ReThuglican majority in the Senate by 2, and the majority in the House by 4-6. The Democrats, Liberals, progressives, Greens, etc. will then once again scream "How could this happen"?

The reality is that most Americans are sufficiently dumbded down, frightened and brainwashed by slogans that it will take a popular uprising to motivate the potential voters who keep sitting out election after election because they feel their votes mean little to nothing.

Most importantly, we need to stop the current electronic voting machine scandal, whereby the ReThugs can rig the elections in their favor even if the Dem's, et al, actually receive a voting majority.

Rove can linger like slow acting rat poison, but it won't matter. With unaccountable voting systems as they are, Donald Duck would be a shoo in for Pres. in 2008 if the GOP so ordained. He who controls the ballots, controls the future. It's as simple as that. Until the polls are transparent, that is, subject to fair and proper scrutiny( eg. Ohio 2004 and Florida 2000) all the righteous indignation in the world won't remove their thumbs from the scales. It's time to take action.

"The greatest mistake ever made by the U.S. was taking the stupid, arrogant and racist South back as "equals"(?) after the Civil War."

Yes Ron, that must be it. The Federal government had a stellar record with race relations following the Civil War. What was it? Nearly a hundred years more of Jim Crow laws and institutionalized racism? Good thing the Feds finally got around to fixing that in 1964. Today, minorities need no longer fear being battered by police officers or railroaded in the justice system.
Those stupid hillbillies...how could they possibly fear a monolithic federal government police state. Being incorporated into an all powerful centralized state by force is obviously the only way to preserve rights and generate freedom so vast that people actually hate us for it and are trying to kill us.
Those idiot Founding Fathers and all that limited government and government by consent of the governed crap...what a bunch of losers.

Ron is right about the south and I might add that Texass should be the lone star country!I can see it now President DeLay!

These people do not play by the rules anymore.Do one of 2 things.Loudly repeat their lies WEEKLY to everyone and/or play dirty-it has an honorable past.As Clinton said,if you can't help-get another job.Let the underground of real talent get going-get the hell out of the way-a 54 year old who is waiting for a breath of fresh air.

Fire His Ass | by Eve Ensler
This poem was written by Eve Ensler

Since GEORGE BUSH really got in power by corporate take over and not election Since he has behaved like a CEO of a huge corporation called U.S.A. supporting profit in all cases over human interests, we should treat him the way they would treat him in any corporation and

FIRE HIS ASS

When you start with a major surplus and end up with a huge huge deficit they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you fail to move a company forward, they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you are lazy and take vacations at a time of peril, they

FIRE YOU LAZY ASS

When you don't prepare for terrible outcomes and then lose thousands of lives and insane amounts of money they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you lie to your stockholders and board and then spend nearly 1.3 trillion dollars and kill hundreds of thousands of people for no reason that makes sense to anyone, they

FIRE YOUR ASS

Sometimes they even put you in prison.
When you openly practice racist policies whether they want to or not, they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you openly break the law, order torture and get caught they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you hire people who are ignorant and incompetent, they

FIRE YOUR ASS

When you destroy the brand of a company
and alienate potential buyers all over the world, they

FIRE YOUR ASS

We are the shareholders of the U.S.A.
Bush has bankrupted our company, our pocketbooks,
But mainly our soul.
We need to remove this president and his staff
and we need to do it now..

FIRE HIS ASS.

PLEASE SPREAD AROUND THE WORLD

This sounds like a very good idea. I hope it is successful.
