Makes Your Head Explode
-- by Dave Johnson
Digby: The Worm Turns,
Listening to George W. Bush's speeches for the last five years, particularly after 9/11, is like having someone sing "It's a small world after all" over and over and over again. It was bad the first time. Now it makes you want to stab your ears with a letter opener.Best line of the day.

While listening to some of it yesterday my thought was, why, our president sounds exactly like an old drunk! I'm not kidding. His expression, the hesitations in his speech, that crackling quality, the way he leans in, stressing totally irrelevant points, that slight lisp, where have I heard it before? That's what hard-core alcoholics sound like.
