Ten Years In Prison For Oral Sex

-- by Dave Johnson

The Georgia Supreme Court just upheld a sentence of Ten Years in Prison for 17-Year-Old Who Had Consensual Oral Sex with 15-Year-Old -- even though Georgia later changed the law to a misdemeanor. That's ten years with no possibility of parole, by the way.

I'm trying to find a way to level this with the ability of Scooter Libby to be (potentially) pardoned by the Pres after outting a CIA agent. Have these people devolved so greatly that they can't recognize ANY elements of right and wrong or the priorities of a healthy society?

Yes, I realize that it was a consentual BLOW JOB between two minors who should not be completely held responsible for their silly adolescent behavior, but COME ON! A BLOW JOB was committed here! In this country BLOW JOBS are bad, bad, bad!!! Apparently the worst possible crime in this country is to either give or receive a perfectly welcomed, consentual BLOWJOB! Hell, we damn near impeached a president for receiving a consentual BLOW JOB! LOCK 'EM UP!

... And throw away the key, god damn it! We don't need sexual perverts having sexual contacxt with other sexual perverts. That's what jail is for, Dammit!

well, you just better hope he doesn't post any comments here from prison, you might be responsible for them, to the tune of $300,000...

... as the parent of two children about to enter the teenage years, the criminalization of sexual activity by teens relatively close in age is very alarming... especially the inconsistency of the laws and application of said laws.

Seems like part of "the talk" now has to be not just about the mental, emotional and physical aspects of sex, but about the legal implications. :(

Seriously, the ten year sentence may be harsh, but given existing trends, this guy is looking at another 60-70 years of being punished (wearing GPS trackers, public shaming, limited locations where he can live, etc. etc.).
