Of Course I Support Hillary!

-- by Dave Johnson

A recent post I wrote with James, defending Hillary from a racist Republican attack, has evoked e-mail and comment "accusations" that I am a "Hillary supporter."

OF COURSE I AM A HILLARY SUPPORTER -- I'M A DEMOCRAT!!

I also support Barack Obama, Chris Dodd and John Edwards! Duh!

I think I prefer Edwards and Dodd right now, because their polices and thinking and approach lines up more with my own. Obama sure is winning me over, too. I am more progressive-oriented than Hillary.

But let me suggest something to you -- If Hillary Clinton becomes President, she will be the most progressive president America has ever had.

So relax. We have a great group of candidates this time.

Based on a rating I saw last Spring, Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Joe Lieberman are the only Dems and Indies with more conservative voting records than Hillary. "Most progressive??!!"

At least two Roosevelts and LBJ are giggling at that one, Dave.

Myself, I'm a DINO. But in reverse. I feel no loyalty to the national party and there's at least two Dems I won't vote for, in the current Presidential field.

It's fine that you and I will disagree on this. I understand your position. But I think you're guilty of hyperbole to suggest Hillary's THAT progressive. Can you back up that claim by telling me what notable legislative achievement she's done so far?
