Right Starting To Unload On Obama
-- by Dave Johnson
A lot of blog readers weren't really old enough to fully experience the Clinton-hatred of the 90's. So they don't really understand why Hillary Clinton is seen as "divisive."
I think they're going to get a dose of the same sort of stuff again, because the right is starting to do its thing on Barack Obama now.
Example, at National Review, Obama's Political Origins,
Political correctness was invented precisely to prevent the mainstream liberal media from persuing the questions which might arise about how Senator Obama's mother, from Kansas, came to marry an African graduate student.Oh, PLEASE go read the whole thing. There's going to be a lot worse coming.. . . It was, of course, an explicit tactic of the Communist party to stir up discontent among American blacks, with an eye toward using them as the leading edge of the revolution.

Please! Oh please! Let this be the Republican strategy against Obama.
"Brothers! Oh, brothers! We have all gathered here, to preserve our hallowed culture and heritage! We aim to pull evil up by the root, before it chokes out the flower of our culture and heritage! And our women, let's not forget those ladies, y'all. Looking to us for protection! From darkies, from Jews, from papists, and from all those smart-ass folks say we come descended from monkeys!" ~ Homer Stokes

The photo currently making the RWDBs foam at the mouth is a wonderful example of 'dog whistle' politics - a message pitched at a level that wouldn't be noticed by any but the most receptive/vulnerable. In this specific instance, anyone with cloth on their head is deemed to be a muslim, ie a terorist which reminds us that after 9/11 Sikhs with turbans were being abused by ignorami who thought they were muslims. So the appeal to ignorant xenophobia, that anyone with half a doz. functioning neurons wouldn't deign to notice, works down to the level of worst.
