Today's Conservatives

-- by Dave Johnson

Drudge, FOX and lots of right-wing blogs picked up on my post the other day about Speaker Pelosi being heckled at the AFN conference. So I have received hundreds of emails, and comments at the YouTube channel. Almost all of them are like this one:

More than half you people on here should be fed into a wood chipper that ejects its refuse directly into the ocean. And guess who gets to pick whom? Me bitches! Fuck you!

THIS is your modern "conservative" movement. Nastiness seems to be all they are about, all they have.

C'mon Dave, you're better than that. If you truly think the "wood chipper" post represents the modern conservative movement, then we are all in trouble. We have known each other a long time, and you know two things; (1) I am a conservative on most political issues, and (2)I find the "wood chipper" post to be as offensive and tasteless as you do.

I challenge you to go to ANY conservative website, even newspapers, and read the comments that people are leaving. They will largely reflect what I posted here. There is a reason for that.

The strategy of the movement is to stir up the base. The base is stirred up.

Gentlemen:

The "modern" Conservative movement is a sham. It purposly inflames the uninformed to a fever pitch with less than half-truths in order to rally the
base. I need not remind either of you who controls most of the wealth, and how, over 30 years, they got there. Yes... the quote Dave used is unfortunately common. The "New Right" wants followers to talk past us Lefties.
